B:      Because it is the developing country where is suffering from the rich countries where have a lot of high technologies and science in or order process drug for the usage. And because they need to buy , that is the market opened.

B:      They must have more responsibility and pay attention to the usage of drug. The rich nations must uphold morality in their own professional skills. If not, their immorality technology will destroy and create many consequences to the developing countries.

A:      Do you mean that they need to abolish the market of drug first?

B:      Exactly, when there is no market of demand, then the production will automatically disappear.

A:      Is your country a drug production area?

B:      Of course not, we are trying and fighting everyday against the planting of these OPIUM trees.

A:      What do you need the most in order to enforce its law in the struggle against the drug trafficking?

B:      We are now lacking everything, we need 1) Training, 2) Lab Equipment, 3) Money for operation, 4) Cooperation between all international organs, 5) Permanent assistance and 6) Centers of treatment.

A:      Can I ask you the last question? Why is your leader unable to arrest any men who are planting Marijuana on the area of hundreds of hectares in this country?

B:      We are now working very hard for this scandal. Thank you!

B:         Hi! Jerry. No, of course not. You cannot be complex like this. This will make you lose the good opportunity to be promoted to a higher position. You must not hide deeply in your heart all of your innermost feelings.

B:         I will tell you this trick. First of all, must be happy and say “Hello” all the time with your boss and consider him as your normal colleagues.

A:         What is the second thing?

B:         Second, you should work hard, pay strong attention to your daily work, always look for new methods in working, have new initiatives, and accomplish or assignments.

B:         Third is that when you meet difficulties or hardship, you should express your opinion bearing a creative solution to your direct boss or supervisor. Don’t be hesitated to do your work before your boss. Be firm and confident in your work.

B:         Because your boss or supervisor is also a Man not Evil who can eat your flesh or suck your blood. You must be straight and brave to speak out your idea, but not crazy!

A:         What does it mean the word “Not Crazy”?

B:         Somebody becomes crazy, for they look down on their boss when they know well their boss’ mood. This is a very dangerous move which leads you to the daily job-loss.

A:         Is that very important for my future behavior?

B:         Right, you must not create a tense atmosphere. You should think about the compliment of your boss. Create and advantageous atmosphere in the exchange of ideas. You should have unique idea and standpoint. You must correct your mistakes right away and don’t let your boss remind you again and again. Be confident, brave in speaking but not arrogant or you will get the opposition result.

A:         What is the last advice I need to remember for the whole of my life?

B:         That is creating the trust in your boss about you. Lose trust – lose job!

        Why do they invest in a country?

A:        Hello! Tom. I still wonder why  foreign investors do not want to come to do business or invest in our country?

B:         Hi! Jerry. Well! My buddy, you know! In order to invest into a country, they need to follow a way.

A:        Which way do you want to say? I really want to know this. Could you tell me?

B:         Of course, when a foreign investors wants to come and invest in ant countries in the world, they always looks at the PESTLE.

A:        So would you mind telling me what the full name of the world P.E.S.T.L.E.?

B:         OK! P mean Politics, E mean Economics, S mean Society, T mean Technology, L means legislation, and E means Environment.

A:        Thus why do they need to look at Politics?

B:         Because a war, insecurity, chaos, riot, and protest, they will not invest due to risks.

A:        Why did they need to look at Economics?

B:         They will not come if that country is too poor  and too few people.

A:        Why do they need to look at Society?

B:         It means the society is full of anarchic, robberies, kidnappings, injustice, fraud, and deceits.

A:        Why do they need to look at Technology?

B:         Right! They need well – skilled workers, intellectuals, full human source, basic infra-structure etc.

A:        Do they need a country having full of technology?

B:         It means that the people in this county must understand science and have technical skills.

A:        Why do they need to look at Legislation?

B:         A country has no law, the capitals of investors are always in risks, they will not come in at all.

A:        Why do they need to look at Environment?

B:         Environment becomes important in the decade of 90s because it has the function to balance the ecological system. It gives us the fresh breath to produce products for the society.

A:        So the PESTLE is very important country to attract big investors to do business.

B:         That is right. The more you learn, the more you know the significance of business.

A:           Hello! Tom. Now it is rainy season, why doesn’t it rain a lot? An on      the country the weather is hotter is hotter. Could you explain me about the natural phenomena?

B:           Hi! Jerry. The weather changes from day to day because we have been cutting a lot of trees. The forest around the world has been cutting down from 60 to 70 percent.

A:           What will happen in the future if our forest is disappeared?

B:           If our forest is depleted, the environment can become dangerous, unbalance, resulting in drought to flood and then our economies can collapse. As you know! Deforestation can lead to drought, flood and other disastrous consequence. So, we have to stop cutting the trees immediately.

A:           If our forest is disappeared, does our Royal Government have to take care of this deforestation?

B:           Yes, of course. You know! The Gov’t has passed an important law to condemn illegal traders. But this crackdown measure is not effective yet.

A:           What crackdown measure should they take to conserve the remaining forest?

B:           In my view, Gov’t has to take a strong action against anarchic loggers and particularly, we have to demolish all illegal sawmills.

A:           You said that trees have interest for construction material, so if the Gov’t stop cutting the trees, what can we do for local consumption? The wood will be increased.

B:           You still misunderstand! You know, Trees consumption and exploitation must be limited. You see, some countries have used their timber in a way that maintains their natural resources.

A:           What should we put blame on?

B:           It is a big and unpardonable mistake. I think you ate clever enough to weigh what is right and what is wrong and whose mistakes. You know, who should be responsible in a family if children become gangsters?

A:           Do you want to put blame on Gov’t?

B:           It might be that! But I don’t know and we cannot speak without any proofs.

A:           I think you are clever as you can see the proverb” Do in Rome as the Roman do”.

B:           Yes, of course. I am clever since I was born. You just know!

A:           In the name of citizen of Cambodia, are you afraid of losing our forest?

B:           Yes, I am . But I don’t know how to do. My spit is not salty.

A:           Do you think of national interests more than personal interests?

B:           I would rather not say. Some leaders don’t have any national conscience, but I do. Some leaders take care of their nation, and so do I.

Prefer / Would prefer and Would rather

Prefer/Would prefer and Would rather

A/ Prefer to do and prefer doing.

      You can use " prefer to or prefer -ing" to say what you prefer in general :

  eg. I prefer to live in the country . or I prefer living in the country.

The differences structure affter prefer:

1/ I prefer something to something else.

2/ I prefer doing something to something else.

3/ I prefer to do something rather than (do) something else.

eg. I prefer this coat to the coat you were wearing yesterday.

      I prefer to drive rather than travel by train.

B/ Would prefer ( I'd prefer......)

     We use would prefer to say what somebody wants in a particular situation. ( not in general )

eg. Would you prefer tea or coffee?

* We say: Would prefer to do. (not doing)

eg. I'd prefer to go by car. (not I'd prefer going )

      I'd prefer to stay at home rather than go to the cinema.

C/ Would rather ( I'd rather....)

Would rather (do)= Would prefer (to do)

     After would rather we use the infinitive without to.

Compare

                                           a/ I'd prefer to go by car.

- Shall we go by train? 

                                           b/ I'd rather go by car.

-Would you rather have tea ? ( not to have )

* I'd rather do something than (do) something else. 

D/ I'd rather you did something = I want you to do something.

When you want somebody to do something you can say:

" I'd rather you did something"

eg. I'd rather you came with us.

      I'd rather they didn't know.
